Subject: Featuring Bruce Hornsby and Branford Marsalis
I was shocked to see 0 reviews on this astounding performance. Coming on just before the headlining Allman Bros Band, this gem of a set is Weir, Hornsby, and Marsalis jamming hard on some Dead and Hornsby originals in their own unique style. It's alternately tender and thundering, loungy and engaging and a wonderful display of musicianship all around. A slow start with Bird Song to get things going, replete with Bob-phrasing, but things really take off in the other one, to which Bob remarks "well, there goes the setlist!" A really special, unique show that totally deserves your listen.
